Transferring to St Jude Hospital

Hi Everyone,

This past Thursday, we received a call from St. Jude inviting us to come in for further evaluation. Olivia has two important appointments scheduled for Monday — one with their Oncology team in the morning and another with Dr. Klimo and the Neurosurgery team in the afternoon.

We landed earlier today in Memphis and just checked in at St. Jude for the week ahead. The neurosurgery team shared that it may be possible to go back in and remove most, if not all, of the remaining tumor. Hearing this news made our hearts sink. The thought of Olivia enduring another brain surgery so soon is incredibly difficult.

Still, we are holding tightly to hope. We trust that Olivia is in the hands of some of the very best specialists in the world. The team assured us they will only proceed with surgery if they are nearly certain it can be done safely and successfully. To make that call, they are performing a high-definition MRI on Thursday morning to get a clear picture of the tumor and its surrounding structures. That afternoon, we’ll meet with both Oncology and Neurosurgery to determine the next step.

Friday will bring either another surgery or the beginning of chemotherapy.

We are asking — once again — for your prayers. We fully believe in the power of prayer and in the protection and healing of Jesus. Please pray for Olivia’s complete healing, for wisdom and clarity for her doctors, and for peace and strength for our family as we navigate these next few days.

We’ll share more as soon as we know what’s next.
