Update from Norma:
I’m feeling about as good as can be expected and have been telling everyone that I’m ready to go home!
Since Aurora is back in St. George, here’s the latest:
My hospitalist, Dr. Suri, stopped by and said he wants to fully review my case and make sure I’m truly ready for discharge before releasing me. We were originally waiting on a leg ultrasound and today's lab results.
However, there has been a change in plans. I declined the ultrasound because the pressure from the test is extremely painful. Instead, they will do a repeat CT scan tomorrow morning, from the abdomen down, and then determine the next steps from there.
The Infectious Disease doctor has signed off on my case, and I’ve now been switched to oral antibiotics, which is encouraging. She also mentioned that once I’m further along in recovery, the vascular specialists would like to follow up regarding the aneurysm in my foot and discuss whether any intervention may be needed.
For now, the team wants to continue monitoring me through Wednesday to see whether the inflammation is improving or worsening before making any final decisions.
Thank you all for your continued prayers, love, and support. We are taking things one day at a time and hoping for continued progress. ❤️
