Noah’s Healing Journey
We wanted to update you all on some progress we’ve had with our Noah in regards to his last few weekly therapy sessions 🌞
Noah is working really hard to gain the confidence to start walking. In physical therapy, we are diligently working on him standing up on his own and walking without us holding his right hand. He tends to use his dominant hand to hold onto things as he walks, so him gaining that confidence in himself is a work in progress. Right now he relies on crawling to get where he wants to as it’s a faster pace but we know he will get there in time.
In occupational therapy, we have been starting sessions with restraint therapy - we use an ace bandage around his dominant hand for as long as he will tolerate to encourage him to use his left arm and hand. With each visit he has tolerated longer stretches of time with it on. His last session we did 34 minutes! He started with 8 minutes, so this is wonderful to witness. His hand is open more than it has been in the past and we continue to encourage him to use his left side throughout the day.
Every single day we continue hold the vision of us being in Mexico and having our son receive the stem cell treatment he deserves. We truly believe it will happen. We have already witnessed such an outpouring of support from our community at large - it is truly remarkable. We just need one last big push and we know we can make this happen, together. Thank you for your continued support and love for our son. 🙏🏻💚
