Joshua’s medical team has been so impressed with the accomplishments he has made, managing his pain better and able to be more active around the house. He’s on week 9 of the pain program, and has a few weeks to go still.
With his birthday on the horizon we spoke with the team a week ago to see if he was medically cleared for travel. They asked where and what the plan was. Idyllwild, a weekend at the cabin, take out, movie and game nights, basically what we do at home but with 4 new walls and fresh mountain air!
They cleared him for travel this weekend within an hour of home. Well Idyllwild is 1 hour 22 minutes from home, so they accepted!
We spend the weekend listening to music in town, a few iced chai Joshua’s favorite, and some new card games with papa and grandma! It was a nice relaxing weekend for all, just what the Dr ordered!!
Today (March 30) Joshua turned 15! The past 8 months have been so challenging for him and our family as we learn to navigate many health obstacles and difficulties, new treatment and lots of medication and side effects! He has handled it all so well! Seeing the joy on his face this weekend and how proud of himself he is was so amazing to see!
Wednesday this week we meet with CHLA pain management to discuss long term plans and treatment and what to do when he has a flareup again.
We appreciate all the love and prayers as we continue navigating complex medical issues.
