Hey all,
We at officially at one whole month of puking and Merritt, unfortunately, took a turn for the worst on Mother’s Day.
We had an okay morning with him (our picture is from brunch that morning), but as the day progressed he had a harder time keeping anything down. He would puke within the first five minutes of every feed and they were dark brown, and eventually, we decided they were full of blood.
We rushed him to the ER around 7 pm and he was admitted around midnight. We still do not have many answers. Most of his labs look good. The doctors think he is fighting back to back viruses, but we remain skeptical that that is the only problem.
Honestly, I just miss my baby. I miss normal times with him hanging out and playing. I want him to be healthy again, and I’m very worried that his surgery will be delayed if he is not healthy. All of us feel that the ng tube is a contributor in these problems, and it will suck if we can’t have surgery because of the illness caused by the very thing we need surgery for. I am feeling very stressed as I try to wrap up my school year. Jeremy has been at the hospital with him and is also missing a lot of work too. Hopefully we can get things back on track soon 😔
