Wow!! The amount of support, love, prayers, financial support, gifts for Everett, checking-in texts, meals, and all in-between has been astounding. I am truly blessed and so so grateful.
Getting used to the new normal of appointment after appointment and lots of sleep. Everett and I have been enjoying the holidays- went in a limo for a tour of Christmas lights, a sweet visit to see Santa, and of course the trees at Hotel Roanoke- because of your support we are ready and excited for Christmas! I think Santa has a lot in store for this little guy. He seems to be handling things well. After talking to his pediatrician- I’ve explained that Mommy has some bad cells and some happy cells and we are doing treatments to get rid of those bad cells but might make Mommy not feel so well. He has been so kind and full of snuggles- even brushing his teeth on his own!
Saw my oncologist last Thursday and we went over all the fun side effects I’ve had from here and overall I am experiencing things very well! She said I was a role model patient! Of course I had the typical exhaustion, weird rash, and a few pains but overall not bad! She had me scheduled for fluids expecting me to need them - but we cancelled for now since I felt well. Unfortunately, my white blood count was very low- so I tried to avoid the crowds and wear a mask. My immunity was tanked. But I’ve been eating lots of protein and hoping I’ve built it back up for round two of chemo next Tuesday! I also had a brain MRI and awaiting the results to see if the cancer has spread to my brain or not. Either way- I will fight!
Wanted to drop a quick update, note of appreciation and most importantly wish you a very Joyous Christmas!!!!
Much love and gratitude,
Megan and Everett
