We’re sharing this update with the hopes that our story and situation will continue to spread through the community like wildflowers. Many of you already know how hard Matt has been fighting since that life changing day back on February 7th, 2025. Day after day, he pushes through challenges most people never see—doing everything he can to stay strong, stay hopeful, and keep going. But right now, he’s facing a barrier he/we simply cannot overcome alone.  

Matt has the opportunity to receive stem cell therapy at BioXcellerator in Medellin, Columbia- a treatment that has shown meaningful potential for people in exact situations like his. It isn’t experimental for the sake of trying something new—this is a chance at real improvement, a chance at relief, a chance at reclaiming the parts of his life that have robbed him of his own independence.  

But here’s the heartbreaking part: insurance won’t cover any of it. Its not FDA approved in the states which is why we are having to go out of country to do this remarkable treatment. Its important and crucial that he get this treatment sooner rather then later and it is crucial that we get him started while hes still in the early stages of recovery and the body can respond better to this treatment the sooner that he can get it.

The cost? It’s enormous—far beyond what Matt and our family can manage, but its the chance for Matt to potentially help with recovery from his accident. The cost is far more than what we can do on our own on top of just maintaining the monthly expenses that keep coming every month and us surviving on solely one income. It’s devastating to know that something that could truly help him is sitting just out of reach because of money. 

That’s why this fundraiser isn’t just important—it’s essential.
 It’s the bridge that gets Matt from where he is today to the treatment that could help give him a better tomorrow.

We know that we are surrounded by amazing people and our support system is HUGE, but we need help outside our support system even though we are typically not ones to ask for help. But we need help on this one!
