Matt Lunt's Recovery
Man, It’s hard to believe that today marks 9 months since Matt’s accident. The road to recovery has been long and challenging, but Matt continues to face every obstacle with strength, determination, and his witty sense of humor, as well as us girls learning how to remain strong for him during this journey of recovery. The docs told us when we got to Craig Hospital that this injury didn't just affect Matt, it affected all of those around him. Our lives may have been turned upside down that day, but day by day we are regaining our steam, and the Lunt Family is going to be stronger than ever through all of this. We have learned so much through these past months, and are just very thankful that he is still here with us and that what doesn't kill you, only makes you stronger!
Over the past few months, he’s made steady progress in his rehabilitation — working tirelessly in Physical Therapy to build strength and Each small step to get his muscle strength as much as he can. And as Matt moves forward every day brings new victories, and his positive attitude continues to inspire everyone around him.
As many know, Matt’s next major goal is to pursue stem cell therapy, which could play a key role in his ongoing recovery and help improve his quality of life. In addition, we are raising funds for adaptive recreational equipment to help him get back to doing what he loves most — being around the motocross tracks and the incredible community that has supported him from day one. He wants to be able to go to the start gate again, and be along side his race team of ladies, and to cheer on along side for his moto families. Not to mention this will help him to not only be able to get around at the tracks, but will also help him to navigate around the property at his home.
A SupportNow page has been set up to help make these goals a reality. Every donation, share, and message of encouragement makes a huge difference and brings Matt one step closer to getting back out there doing what he loves.
Our family is deeply grateful for the continued love and support from friends, family, and the wider motocross community, not only just in CO, but all over the US, and from people that we don't even know. Your kindness and encouragement have helped carry us through these past eight months — and the journey ahead is looking brighter every day. ❤️
