We are so grateful to all of you for the continued love, support, and prayers. Jacob, Makayla, and baby Mason are definitely feeling all the love from their entire village, and it means more than we can say. 💙
We received some encouraging answers this week. Mason has been diagnosed with laryngomalacia, which was a big relief for everyone. It is something many babies experience and most will outgrow as they get bigger and stronger. In a smaller percentage of cases, a minor procedure may be needed to help open the airway, but for now, his doctors are watching him closely and giving him time to grow and heal.
Right now, Mason is getting a little baby Pepcid and they are slowly increasing his feeding volume. He continues to make great progress, and his doctors keep reminding everyone that the biggest thing he needs right now is time and patience. We are so thankful to continue seeing things move in the right direction.
He was also moved into his own room, which has been such a blessing for Jacob and Makayla. They have a little more privacy and can settle in without having to pack all of their belongings in and out of the hospital every day.
As for Mason, he has been very busy doing important baby things — sleeping, eating, cuddling, and meeting some of the family who already loves him so much. 🥰
Jacob and Makayla are incredibly grateful for all of the meals, DoorDash and Instacart gift cards, messages, and prayers. Every bit of support allows them to put their focus where it belongs right now: being with Mason, loving on him, and soaking up all the cuddles they can get.
Watching Jacob and Makayla step into parenthood through circumstances they never expected has made us so proud. They are already such wonderful parents, and there is no question how very loved this little boy is.
We continue to be grateful to God for every bit of progress and every answered prayer. Please keep the prayers coming for continued healing, growing, eating, and getting stronger — and hopefully, before too long, getting sweet baby Mason home where he belongs. 💙
