Hello all!

First point of business- for those that would like to send gift cards- my email is jearly1231@gmail.com. Thank you so much for your support and kindness!

We have had a very good day. Mason received a platelet transfusion overnight, so we were up a few times for that, but otherwise we were able to sleep for a solid seven hours. It was a huge blessing!

Because we were able to sleep so well, we were up early. Mason ate an apple, a full bowl of goldfish and a Reese's peanut butter cup, then looked at me and asked if I planned to order him a breakfast tray. This mama was soooo happy to see that glimpse of his old appetite!

While he ate the french toast and sausage, he was able to play (and win) three rounds of Uno with the occupational therapist.

After so much activity, he did take a short nap while he received his first blood transfusion of the day. When he woke up, he ate a sandwich from Jimmy John's and then we went for a lap around the floor with the physical therapist.

When we came back into the room, Mason finished two word puzzles, Wordle and Connections. He remained very awake and alert and was feeling "meh"- which is better than "ick" and we are counting as a win. He was feeling good enough to get into a shower by himself to get clean and fresh.

Grandma Mary arrived with a chocolate milkshake and we were able to sit and play a card and dice game while Mason received another platelet transfusion and his second round of blood.

This is the first day where most of the day has been our "normal" Mason and my heart feels full. He has smiled and joked and laughed and been his normal sweet self.

Tomorrow is day 8 of treatment. It is kind of a big day- Mason will go in for a lumbar puncture around 9:30 a.m. They will be checking his spinal fluid for the presence of leukemia and administering chemo directly to the spinal fluid. Please pray for a smooth procedure, minimal pain or discomfort, no headache, and for a clear report on the spinal fluid. Please also pray that the platelet transfusions he has been receiving will help get his platelets close to a normal range so that there will be no complications with this procedure.

Thank you for your continued support and love!
