Hey y'all.

All was quiet overnight last night. Mason's potassium dipped low, so although he was scheduled for his procedures at 7 a.m., they kept him in his room so that they could give him more potassium before they took him down to the procedure room. He handled it like a champ, even though it meant he couldn't eat for that much longer, which then fed into more issues with nausea. He was finally taken down for the procedures around 11:30.

They were able to successfully complete the bone marrow aspiration, the lumbar puncture, and the relocation of the PICC line to a sturdier central venous line. They did have to remove the feeding tube before the procedure, so he also had to tolerate them re-inserting the tube after he was back in his room.

After the procedure was done, Mason's first request was for his newest favorite thing- hot chocolate with whipped cream from the Starbucks downstairs in the hospital. He managed that along with milk and a breakfast quesadilla filled with egg, cheese and sausage. He's doing a fantastic job of trying to take in as many calories as he can, even while he continues to fight the nausea.

He did end up sleeping for most of the day after that. I was able to get a mumbled "I love you too Mom" when I called to check in on him, but our only goal for the day was to get through the procedure, and he definitely managed that.

I do have access to Mason's online medical record so I receive notifications on test results as soon as they are available. We will wait for confirmation from the doctors tomorrow, but from everything I can see in the results, the lumbar puncture once again shows clear spinal fluid with no evidence of leukemia in the area- which we will once again take as a huge win.

We should have a more concrete plan of treatment for the second round of chemo by early next week based on the results of the bone marrow aspiration. We are currently praying for a clear path forward in the treatment plan while also keeping Mason as comfortable as possible.

I am at home today (tried to avoid driving through what I am sure was a mess in Atlanta due to a minor televised political event happening tonight...). I'm hoping to get a few more things done around the house tomorrow before I take back hospital duties over the weekend.

Thank you for your continued support and encouragement!
