Mary Lacy Meador
Tomorrow marks three weeks since Mary’s accident. It’s hard to believe how much she’s already been through, but she continues to show such incredible strength and determination every single day.
This past week, the doctors removed the wound care pump from the skin graft on the back of her calf. The area is still very sore, but they’re happy with how it’s healing — a big step in the right direction! Mary is still non-weight bearing on both legs and her right arm, and without her back brace, she can only have her head elevated to 20 degrees.
She’s been working hard with physical therapy every day, and with her brace on, she can now sit up unassisted for a couple of minutes. It may seem small, but these moments are huge milestones for her — and each one gives her more hope and confidence.
We’ll be reading all of your kind words and messages to Mary, so please keep posting them. Your love, prayers, and well wishes mean the world to her (and to all of us). Thank you for continuing to lift her up and walk beside her on this long road to recovery. 💕
