Marley's Miracle
I didn’t think we’d have a World Cup story, but here we are.
Dallas is in the middle of the World Cup, with people from all over the world coming to our city to enjoy everything it has to offer. But the World Cup brought us more than soccer fans! It brought us a sweet little boy named Jabril and his family from France.
With fewer than 100 children worldwide diagnosed with NARS1, it’s pretty incredible that Marley and Jabril were able to meet in person.
I was first introduced to Jabril’s father and aunt through Marley’s Instagram account. We’ve made so many meaningful connections through her page, and I pray it will always be a place that brings hope and a little light. We know exactly what families are facing and feeling.
Today was beyond special. Two families who likely would have never crossed paths are now connected forever. There’s an instant bond you just feel … it’s deeper than friendship, it’s family.
I know our NARS1 family will continue to grow as more are diagnosed, and while that reality is hard, it also means more hearts joining together, more support, and more love.
This journey is nothing like I ever imagined, but there’s something incredibly comforting about finding people who truly understand because they’re living it too, and choosing to walk it together.
Thank you, Fawzi, Safia, Jabril, Jihane, Idris, and Imene, for making us part of your World Cup tour.
I’ll never forget today. ❤️ #NARS1
