Water safety has always been close to our hearts. Drowning is the number one cause of death for children under 14 with autism, and also the leading cause of death for children four and under. 

I will never forget the day I couldn’t find Marley at a family function. I called for her again and again until I ran outside and found her right at the edge of my father-in-law’s pool. A relative had let her out and turned his back towards her, unaware of the risk. That terrifying moment is forever etched in my memory. I know how easily it could have ended differently. 

Since then, Jonathan and I have been committed to ensuring our kids are equipped with lifesaving swim skills. We are forever thankful for ISR (infantswim.com) and our incredible instructor, Michelle Love, who has been with us from the start. What a gift she is to our family! Yes, kids like Marley are capable of learning to swim!! Watching Marley grow confident in the water has been a blessing. Not only does it help keep her safe, but it also brings her so much happiness. The pool is her happy place.

This summer, we are thrilled to share that Marley received a swim grant from Swim For Vinny to continue her lessons. We are deeply grateful for this blessing and the peace of mind it brings.
