Earlier this year, when we were told it would take a six-figure number to get Marley the treatment she needs for her rare genetic condition, #NARS1, we were overwhelmed. We honestly didn’t know where to begin. But as we’ve learned time and time again on this journey — when the road looks impossible, God makes a way.

Little by little, doors began to open. People listened. They cared. They gave us opportunities to share Marley’s story and bring much-needed awareness to her condition. One of those opportunities was The Dallas Morning News. We were so grateful for the chance to simply tell her story.

But when today’s issue came out and Marley made the cover — our hearts could hardly believe it. What a reminder of God’s goodness!

We’re so thankful for Stan Crooke, CEO of n-Lorem, who shared the science behind Marley’s treatment in the article, and to Dr. Kaitlin Batley at UT Southwestern, who will be the one to infuse this miracle medicine into Marley when it’s ready. Please join us in praying that we get there and that this treatment will be successful not only for Marley, but also for all the children who will follow in her footsteps.

This is a huge win for our family today. Some days are really hard. But today? Today is a win.

Thank you also to Dawn Souto with SupportNow for helping get Marley’s story out through press releases. I also love how the incredible photographer captured the fun and chaos of our family so perfectly in the story. We also love our #NARS1 foundation so much, The Rory Belle Foundation. Without them, we would have never applied for this treatment! Thank you, Rachel and Teri, for creating the only NARS1 foundation in the world. Because of an amazing girl named Rory Belle, who lost her fight to NARS1, her Mom, Rachel, has taken that grief and energy and put it into helping other families. We are eternally grateful!

Marley’s journey is just getting started, and we’re more hopeful than ever. Read the article
