If you follow my Facebook page you may notice that Marco (almost) always has a block in his hand and may wonder why!  During COVID shutdown we all had stressors that we were able to express and share with others.  With a non-verbal young man like Marco it is near impossible to know how something like the lock down would affect him.  A week or two in we noticed that Marco was walking around with a foam block in his hand all the time.  He never was without one.  If he found himself without it he would say “blockkkk” and search for it.  We quickly came to realize that this block was how Marco was finding comfort during a very different and challenging time.  Over the years, the foam block was somehow replaced with the duplo Lego style block and we tease that it often seems that he chooses the color to accessorize what he is wearing!  You will rarely see Marco without his “blockkkk” and every time I see it, I just smile!
