Happy Monday!
Mackenzie had a chill weekend with her dad visiting. That's good because it'll be a busy week.
This morning she got a new pic line, everything went well with the procedure. They've been weaning her morphine doses and today she went from 3x to 2x comfortably. They will monitor and adjust as needed.
They also clamped her chest tube to see how she does with no output. They will X-ray and if she does well, they'll talk about removing it soon. The chest tube was initially placed to drain fluid surrounding the mass in her chest. It was recently repositioned to also remove air pockets created by the mass shrinking from chemo.
Tomorrow will be an oncology task day. She is set for a brain MRI at 12p to make sure nothing has metastisized to the brain since the last check and then a CT scan at 1:30pm to check the size of the mass. She has gone through three rounds of chemo (1 round is a day to administer with a 3 week waiting period) and every Tuesday she gets just one of the chemo drugs (Vincristine).
