Thank you to everyone for checking on us and supporting Mackenzie! This is a long due update (sorry), hopefully they won't be so spread out moving forward.
Today's goal for Mackenzie is to increase feeds and continue to wean the sedation medications. There's talk of a precautionary brain and heart MRI soon, and a bronc scope to see how much air pressure is needed through her trach in hopes to decrease that.
Her oncology team is amazing, they are watching her closely and keeping an eye on the tumor. The scope of it right now: reduce and remove it. She has little hills and valleys along the way, but her sass is coming back.
She is pretty awake and alert, she plays well and is gaining strength in her arms little by little each day. She has a huge imagination! She's playing with dolls, play doh, Squishies and pop its. Little play scenes/sets are good because they fit in the bed and have less a chance of toppling over and she loves to dress up with character ears and headbands.
