Mack is a steak guy. He LOVES a good steak.
Anytime we're talking about what to do for dinner or where to go if we're going out, he always jokingly suggests Pampas - a fancy, Argentinian steak house with ~$85 steaks.
Needless to say, the answers is always, "maybe next time..."
Well, over a year of treatment starts today, so Grammy and Grampy took Mack and family out for the steak of his life last night!
After placing our orders, our server whisked Mack back into the kitchen to work with the head chef to prepare his steak. He got a hat, a t-shirt, put on the black gloves, and prepared his high quality New York Strip with oil and seasoning then placed it on an open fire grill with an incredibly satisfying hiss.
We had tons of great food, lots of laughing, a bit of crying, and a bunch of good memories made before embarking on what will certainly be an incredibly hard year for all of us.

Today begins the real work.
- 6 weeks of radiation, 5 days/week
- 1 month off
- 3 cycles of the following chemo regimens
- Regimen A
- 43 days
- days 1-3 in the hospital
- 3 chemo drugs
- Regimen A
- 43 days
- days 1-3 in the hospital
- 3 chemo drugs
- Regimen B
- 29 days
- days 1-3 in the hospital
- 2 different chemo drugs
- Regimen A
If everything goes as planned, with no interruptions, the final treatment cycle will end Oct. 6, 2026.
