Hi and welcome to our site.   My name is Lorrie Loeffler and I thank you in advance for coming along side me as I continue my cancer journey.

My journey began in May of 2023 as I received an unexpected diagnosis of endometrial cancer.  Surgery was successful but the pathology report revealed not only endometrial cancer but due to a slight vascular and lymphatic invasion, my diagnosis became stage 3B Carcinosarcoma, a dual cancer.
Chemo was recommended.  When I asked the effectiveness of these chemo drugs on my type of cancer, the answer was, "It is hard to know since this type of cancer is rare and aggressive.  I can tell you though that the chemo will kill your kidneys so you will need to take your hands off of them but you can fall back on dialysis."
I found no comfort in that especially since I have a long history of chronic kidney disease and had already been actively and faithfully maintaining a renal diet for the previous 24 years. This discipline has been beneficial to slowing down the progression to end stage renal failure.  Being in stage 4 now for 9 years,  I'm still not eager to lose my kidneys especially when no confirmation can be given that the chemo would even be effective.
I also want to give credit to my heavenly Father for being a faithful companion in helping me walk this kidney journey all these years.

So after much prayer I chose to take a naturopathic journey and maintain my quality of life and trust God to walk with me through the next 21 months, which was the life expectancy the doctor gave to me. (side note, March 2025 was my 21 month:)).   Being a believer, I have peace knowing that God has my timing in his hands and has already determined the number of my days.
(Psalms 31:14,15a,  Ps. 139:16)

So now up to date, my labs showed my circulating tumor cell count decreasing over the past 18 months.  However, in November of 2024, I started feeling some soreness in my tailbone area.  A recent PET scan in Feb. 2025 revealed a new growth in the pelvic region along with hypermetabolic retroperitoneal nodal activity.  Chemo was the only option given.  After some time in prayer, once again I said, "No thank you."
These kind of decisions do not come easily.

Over the past year my quality of life has allowed me to start a Tulsa chapter of a HealingStrong cancer support group.  I also returned to singing which was a big part of my life once upon a time.

This current new development requires a more aggressive naturopathic approach being that the time frame of life given is less than before.  Again,  But God....

I have a new appt. with a doctor this coming Tuesday and will keep you updated on my journey.  Please know I appreciate and believe in prayer and healing and so I thank you in advance for however you feel led to offer support!!
Thank you!! Lorrie
