I had surgery for phase 1 of my breast reconstruction four days ago and even though I feel like I’ve been hit by a truck, I couldn’t be happier about the initial result of the DIEP flap. The first thing I said when I looked down was, “It looks familiar!!!” I need time to process all that happened (wait ‘til you hear about my first night in the hospital) but in the meantime, I can’t thank you enough for supporting me through this chapter of my cancer journey. It’s been nothing short of a roller coaster and since I’ll be recuperating for so long, your ongoing help really lightens our load in a variety of ways. Big hugs, Lindsay Joy
