Let’s talk good news and bad news.

We’ll get the bad news out of the way first. Linda did not win a new deck on Fox 11. She did get to keep the piece of deck that she unwrapped as part of the contest, so there’s that. It was a neat experience.

Now for the good news! Results came back from Monday’s scans indicating that the cancer is nowhere else in her body other than in the brain. This scan is unique in that it targeted her specific type of cancer cells, giving more definitive results rather than suspicious areas or possible nodes that a typical PET may find. It’s reassuring to know what’s happening and where.

We also learned on Monday that additional surgeries and single-dose Gamma Knife radiation are not in the cards as they are too risky given the tumor’s location. The path forward will include radiation that’s spread over multiple treatments and a new hormone therapy after radiation is complete.

The providers at Mayo Clinic suspect that this is a slow-growing tumor. We can take a few weeks to breathe rather than rushing to radiation.

God always answers our prayers. This time, he brought us the outcome we were asking for. Praise for that! Keep praying. He will keep listening.
