Lincoln Hocevar
Lincoln is doing well. Last week he spiked a fever which triggered a trip to the hospital. He tested + for the flu and fortunately did not require admission and returned home the same day. He felt pretty miserable for a couple of days but bounced back very quickly. Kids are so resilient. He handled the flu infinitely better than 99% of the adults that I saw come through the emergency room over the past few months.
Larkin caught the flu from Lincoln but fortunately nobody else in our home got it. She also did better than most of my ER patients but not as well as Lincoln in case any of you were wondering.
Today Lincoln starts his 6th and final chemo cycle. It’s bittersweet because chemo is rough on him but it is exciting that we can move to the next phase once we get past these next 5 days.
It is unbelievable to think that all of this started just over 5 months ago. Getting the initial diagnosis feels like a lifetime ago. That truly was one of the worst days, if not the worst day, of my life. Today we have hope and are finding our way through this nightmare thanks to the help of all of you. We are very grateful for every thought, every action, and every prayer that you have put towards Lincoln’s recovery.
