Cycle 5

We started cycle 5 yesterday.  We are doing this round as an outpatient, which I thought would be great until met with the challenge of trying to stay ahead of Lincoln's nausea with PO meds.  (or oral medications vs IV meds).  We loaded him up with everything we had in our antiemetic arsenal.  But around 7pm he started vomiting, poor guy vomited for 3 hours straight. We went to the ER, they gave him IV fluids and nausea meds, got home about 1am.  Today we are back at the clinic for more chemo (Yay).  Lincoln is so exhausted, still nauseas, and just feels like crap.  They are going to try a couple of new longer lasting antiemetics and today we don't have to get carboplatin (which is apparently the chemo that makes you really nauseas).  So, hopefully, tonight will be better.  Then we just have one more day of chemo.
Otherwise, we had a wonderful time visiting our friends in St Louis.  Unfortunately, while we were out of town, our basement flooded.  If it weren't for our AMAZING neighbors and friends, we would have come home to our basement completely underwater.  We are so lucky and blessed to have such a great community, people came over and got out all the water, not just once, but 2 more times when it flooded more!  People brought fans, dehumidifiers, and shop vacs.  During this time when it feels like we can't catch a break, you all make us feel so loved.  Thank you so incredibly much.

I'm so glad to see Lincoln smiling. God is with him and also with you all. For the nausea my sister used to smell lime or squeeze it into her tea or water and she used to eat rasain too. Even though I'm not participating in person, I pray for Lincoln that God can heal him completely, and he will! Lincoln is such inspiring 🙌 ❤️ 👏 kid not only for kids at his age, even for an adult. He got grace and wisdom 🙌 from 🙏 .

So sorry for everything you have been dealing with this week, and especially that Lincoln has been having such difficult time with this round of treatment. Really hope last night went better and that things go as well as possible today. Good to see him smiling. It’s just amazing how resilient he is. Also, glad you had such a nice time in St. Louis and that the village came to the rescue at your house. Please let us know if you need anything and thinking of you all everyday. ❤️
