Hello friends!
I can’t believe the last time we’ve had an update was 10 months ago… unfortunately building an accessible bathroom for people like Leighton is not so straightforward. We poured in so many hours of research, talking to people with children like ours for advice, SO MANY HOURS on the phone with insurance and difficult choices to make sure this space was tailored to fit her every needs even as she grows.
In the past year, Leighton has grown so so much. She is off the charts for her growth and has remained healthy which we are so thankful for. It took 3 weeks for the construction and Leighton got her first bath this week and to say it was life changing is an UNDERSTATEMENT.
We still have to wait for her ceiling lift to be installed but I couldn’t wait to share the good news. Other than her bathroom, we also got a stair lift installed so our house is pretty decked out for our girl. It’s come in so handy so we can safely get her upstairs.
We are so incredibly thankful for our community and their donations for this cause. Raising a child with special needs is not cheap and this has changed our lives. Leighton is so lucky to have so many people who care about her wellbeing as much as we do ❤️
