Recovering Well, Waiting on Answers

MiJung had her surgical biopsy on July 23rd, and a dear friend and colleague drove us home from Boston — it made the trip so much easier and more comfortable, and his warm, comforting food afterward was a gift in itself.

The medical team had some difficulty placing MiJung's IV before surgery, but despite that, she is recovering well. She has some pain and limited mobility in her right arm right now, but she's in good spirits.

We've received part of the pathology results, which show that her cancer has changed in character since her diagnosis six years ago. We're now waiting on one more important piece — the final DNA pathology analysis — and we're scheduled to see her oncologist on August 6th. By then, we should have a clearer picture, and the oncologist will discuss next steps, including neoadjuvant treatments. We'll share another update after that appointment.

Once treatment begins, we may need a bit more help again with meals and other everyday things — we'll let you know more as we get closer.

With Lee also still healing from his own surgery, having this kind of help has made all the difference.

We were also touched by another kind meal offer that came in just yesterday — the generosity around us keeps showing up exactly when we need it.

Thank you again — truly — for the meals, the ride from Boston, and for taking care of the lawn. We feel so held by this community right now.
