Leah is out of surgery and safely in Momma’s arms.

Overall, the report is good. Leah’s burns are in the deep tissues but not to her tendons, which is a huge answer to prayers. The debridement of her right arm was more invasive, and they used cadaver skin grafts on both arms, her right wrist, and right palm.   Her bitty toddler fingers also received additional debridement cleaning with a more refined, precise tool.  The doctor currently believes that some of the burns are going to heal without grafting and is hopeful that her fingers are not going to need additional grafting. Another huge praise. They did not have to work on the burns on her legs at all. While she was under, they were able to place a longer IV line, so they should be able to stop poking her (she’s had 6 IVs placed since Monday), and it should last until the next surgery for all meds and blood draws.

Leah is currently scheduled for an additional grafting surgery next Thursday, 9/17.

How to pray:
  • Continued Miraculous healing over the next week so the least amount of personal skin is need for grafting.
  • Pain management- they placed a nerve block in her right arm, so as that wears off, they will adjust as needed.
  • Strength for Joy, Drake and the family care team.
  • Good sleep for Joy, Drake, Leah and Josiah. They are all running on fumes
