An late night in the ER

Last night we ended up in the ER. Leah’s right leg was oozing so much and it turned a brown green color that needed some attention. 

Wouldn’t you know, in only a God moment, that as we were being taken to an ER room at Riley our favorite nurse from the Burn Unit happened to walk by and see us. She went back to the room with us and immediately addressed the situation, calmed our fears, talked to the ER docs so that they were on the same page, and we prayed with her. 

In the end the wound only needed drained properly and rebandaged. We ended up being still being there for a forever long time as they consulted with the  burn unit and got meds on board to help Leah’s anxiety and pain (and that ER was a zoo last night.)

It was 2am but we made it home.

Deck Update: we are thankful to dear couple (Tom & Lisa) who are campaigning Leah’s need for a safe outdoor environment.  As a former burn patient, Lisa’s story reinforces the importance that this is part of Leah’s healing. Deck plans are drawn, post are marked, and hopefully the weather will allows building to start soon.
