Hi everyone.
You know what they say, plan plan and change the plan. I wanted to let you know that things have changed quite a bit over the last couple of days. I ended up in the ER on the 4th because of new symptoms. The good news is they ruled out a pulmonary embolism and I didn’t need emergency surgery. However, the scans found two unexpected issues: a significant abnormality in my small airways/lungs that now needs urgent pulmonary evaluation, and an abnormal appendix that also needs follow-up. On top of that, I’m still preparing for my tethered cord surgery in New York.

Right now my doctors are figuring out how these new findings affect my treatment plan and whether they change the timing of surgery. I’m home, but I’m taking things very quietly while my care team coordinates next steps.
I don’t know all the answers yet, but I wanted to keep everyone updated. I’ll share more once we have a clearer plan. Thank you for thinking of us.
