It feels so good to be home and it has surely been healthy honey for my soul to be here near my babies!
Yesterday was another exciting day as we arrived home. I am still adjusting to the stimulation during the car rides with the light, wind, AC, noise, bumps and all of those things that I didn't think about before but am super sensitive to now. My surgeon called me this morning to check on me and reassured me that all of this getting used to things and shifty squishy movements in my head are all a normal part of the healing process. He reminded me to take it easy and one day at a time and that over time it will all settle and that I will start to find my "new normal." He also said he will continue to spy on me to make sure I'm not over-doing it as he has gotten to know me very well and knows that I find it hard to sit still. However, I am following dr's orders and have found a new cozy comfy place to prop my head on some ice.
I'm still having to take time off screens so I apologize if it takes me a couple of days to respond to any texts or phone calls. I have always found the human body to be so interesting and God' design is so marvelous with how everything works together. So of course, my brain/skull - the control center for the whole body - needs time to readjust with continued rest. I just have to be patient and wait. I always tell my own patients that good rest on the front end will provide with better recovery in the long run.
Lastly, the God miracles have not stopped. Wendy and I have pages and pages of the many ways God has shown up and continues to blow us away. Oh Praise Him for these reminders of His story continuing to unfold. It's just a tiny glimpse of a bigger picture!
My follow up will be in about 2 weeks or so with my surgeon. We will keep you posted!
