Friday Kinsley was back for labs, multiple chemotherapies and an infusion, as we wrapped up the first week of delayed intensification.

While we prayed everything would go smoothly, there are nearly always risks of awful side effects. Unfortunately for Kinsley, she experienced an anaphylactic reaction and needed an immediate epi pen injection into her thigh. Her oxygen levels dropped, she was administered more meds, and had to be observed for 6 more hours.

Thankfully, we were able to go home late Friday night. She felt well enough to go tubing on Saturday and swimming today.  However, tomorrow (Monday) presents us with much trepidation. 

Kinsley will be back in the Infusion Center to attempt a desensitization approach for the same drug she had an allergic reaction to. This time it will be administered in very small doses over the course of 8-10 hours. If she has another reaction, then that will lead her down a much more daunting path of multiple injections, multiple times a week on top of her already scheduled chemotherapies and infusions.
