Mother's Day Update from Chad-
Kimberly continues to make significant improvements in terms of bloodwork, weight gain, and overall strength and energy levels. We still have work to do, but when we think back to 3 months ago, we are nothing short of amazed how well she is feeling.
When I think back to mid-February of this year, I wasn't even sure how we were going to make it back home from Mexico. But by the grace of God things really started to take a turn for the better towards the end of that month. When we came home at the end of March, we immediately started working on the next leg of our healing journey. And here we are approaching mid-May, and we are already one-third of the way through the current 12-week treatment plan which requires us to travel to Washington D.C. twice a week. But it's been worth it as we are working with a wonderful doctor who is caring and very hands on with Kimberly's treatment plan.
The challenge continues to be the out-of-pocket expense that we are incurring since the treatments are not covered by insurance. We are currently paying $4k a week, which leaves us with at least $32k of remaining expenses.
But I will say we continue to be amazed by where our support comes from. Yes, we have received great support from those closest to us, but equally amazing has been the support we have received from people you don't expect or even know. That has really given us a boost of joy and reminded us that God will meet our every need.
Thank you again for walking along with us on this journey. Your prayers and support in a multitude of ways gives us the strength and hope needed to press on.
