May has arrived and it is ALS Awareness Month!
Kevin has made the brave decision to proceed with getting a Trach because at some point he will no longer be able to breathe on his own. A feeding tube is also going to be added to assist Kevin when he is no longer able to chew and swallow on his own. As a result, a caregiver will be needed for provide Kevin with care.
The upcoming Trach surgery will could keep Kevin in the hospital for a couple of days or for a month, depending on how he adapts. Kristy is seeking lodging nearby UCSF Medical Center while Kevin is hospitalized. If you know anyone living in the city who has room to spare please reach out to Kristy. The Lyon and Krum families have been providing weekly dinners to the Cantrell family. As summer approaches both families will be vacationing, therefore we are asking for extra people to step up and help drop off meals. Please see the Lend A Hand to sign up to drop off a meal. Door Dash is another great way to help out.
