Ken's Health Takes a Turn: Hospital Stay and Treatments

Ken went to the hospital because he had a tummy ache and threw up. The doctors found he had an impaction (blockage in the intestines) and needed a blood transfusion (getting new blood to replace lost blood). After staying in the hospital, he had to get another transfusion and more help to fix the blockage. Now, Ken is also having trouble with his blood pressure (the force of blood pushing against the walls of arteries as the heart pumps it around the body), and he needs extra care from the doctors. We are all hoping Ken will get the help he needs to feel better soon. Due to the impaction and inability to tolerate food by mouth or tube feeding he has also been diagnosed with medically induced severe malnutrition and is needing extra support to bring up his weight and caloric intake.
