Kendal Barbee
Yesterday, May 18, was Kendal’s first birthday since her passing on April 1.
Birthdays have a way of bringing memories into sharp focus. Throughout the day we found ourselves remembering Kendal’s laugh, her kindness, her strength, her sense of humor, and the many ways she made people feel loved and welcomed. She gave so much of herself to her family, friends, students, colleagues, and everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Cancer became part of Kendal’s story, but it never defined who she was. What defined her was the way she cared for people, the relationships she built, and the steady love she gave to those around her. We continue to see her impact in conversations, memories, and small moments that remind us how deeply she touched so many lives.
Our family remains grateful for the support, prayers, meals, cards, messages, and acts of kindness shown to us over the past year. Your care helped carry us through the hardest season of our lives.
As we continue adjusting to life without Kendal’s physical presence, we also continue looking for ways to honor her memory by living with the same generosity, compassion, and faithfulness that she showed every day.
At some point in the near future, we will quietly close down this SupportNow page. Before doing so, I wanted to share one more message of gratitude and remembrance.
Thank you for loving Kendal and for walking alongside our family through all of this.
With gratitude,
Dennis, Jordan, Cameron and Carla
