Today Addy came home from her yearly vacation with her Nana to see her demolished home for the first time in person, and a totaled car that was intended to be hers. The tears were immense and it felt like drowning. Like a suffocation that comes in waves leaving you breathless and hopeless. Then the numbness returns. I hope this gets easier. We worked hard today and got a lot done, and yet the weight of the situation is daunting beyond words.

I’m very sorry Kelly. We haven’t experienced damage like that personally, but best friends of ours lost a home in the California palisades fires in early 2025. It is not easy, and also you will get through with each other, We wish you all the best. <3 Sarah (Redding) and Leon Chen
