Today things got real

Today things got real. As I watched my couch and lazyboy chairs thrown in the rubble on the curb, a piece of me broke. I know it’s just stuff… but it was OUR stuff. The couch where we laid to watch movies and eat snacks and share our days… the cozy lazy boy where my dad would always fall asleep during those movies. The beautiful oriental rug where we would roll around and play with Nala. Nala’s bed and toys. My electric fireplace that upheld so many pictures and crafts and decorations over the years, and kept us cozy in the winter. The list goes on. It was gut-wrenching. 

But. We were blessed today by a crew of people who gave up hours of their time and a lot of sweat to empty all the tubs and furniture out of my basement. We are SO GRATEFUL knowing all our sentimental possessions and important items are now safe. Thank you Church of the Incarnation for the incredible effort today! We appreciate you all so much!
