Keeping Our Heads Afloat
Hi everyone, some updates:
I'm on medical leave from my job for a little over a month now due to multiple hospital visits for IIH; Neurology decided that my job was causing my symptoms to worsen and to have me off until I was re-evaluated by neurosurgery.
I am now two weeks post-op from September 1st, due to an emergency stent surgery that I had to go in for on August 27-28th, due to a sudden loss of vision in my right eye. They ended up doing a fourth lumbar puncture on me, confirmed my opening pressure was high, and kept me until the surgeon was able to do the procedure on September 1st.
The surgery, as painful as the waking recovery was, was successful. I went home the next day, and the following day, I started to have some complications. Tremors have stuck to my right hand, a little to my left. I've had issues with walking, so now I use a cane. I understand that the procedure, as minimally invasive as it was, was still quite a big surgery, so I should be patient with my healing.
My second surgery is on October 27th, however due to the complications, may be sooner.
We are also in the process of getting ready to move again, with the help of resources, due to a lot of things, one being that we don't feel safe around our neighbor/neiborhood.
We appreciate the donations or shares if that's all you're able to do. Words of encouragement are also welcome. We are still reaching out to as many resources as we can.
