Hi everyone, My name is Mitz, and I’m JanK’s older cousin. I created this SupportNow page with a heavy heart and a hopeful spirit. My beloved “little cousin”—yes, I know he’s a grown man now, but he’ll always be my little cousin—has just received the kind of news no one should ever have to face.

On Saturday, August 23rd, we learned that JanK was in the hospital with a large lump on his tongue. What started as a suspected case of tongue cancer quickly unraveled into something far more devastating.

An MRI revealed that the cancer had consumed his entire tongue. The only option was to remove it completely—from the very base. But before that could happen, JanK had to undergo several urgent procedures:

  • A chest scan to check if the cancer had spread

  • A PEG feeding tube inserted directly into his stomach

  • A tracheal tube placed in his throat to help him breathe

  • A biopsy of the tongue mass

The procedures went smoothly. But then came the crushing blow: the cancer had already spread to his lungs. Stage 4. The doctor explained that removing his tongue would no longer change the outcome. Chemotherapy and radiation could offer a slight increase in survival odds—just 10% more—but at the cost of immense suffering and no guarantee of a meaningful life.

Yesterday, JanK made the bravest decision I’ve ever witnessed: he chose to stop all further treatment and live the rest of his days with dignity, surrounded by love.

His “new normal” is far from easy. He breathes through a tracheal tube and receives nutrition through a feeding tube. He cannot speak, eat, or breathe on his own. But he is determined to live—not just survive—with the time he has left.

JanK and his partner Melvin recently moved into their very first home. For most people, that’s a milestone. For JanK, it’s a triumph. He’s faced hardship since childhood, often fending for himself. Owning a home was his dream—and he made it happen.

Now, we need your help to bring him home from the hospital.

🏥 The Urgent Need:

  • Hospital Bill: ₱220,000 and rising

  • Funds on Hand: ₱190,000

  • Remaining Balance: ₱30,000+

  • Additional Costs: Home care, medical supplies, and end-of-life arrangements

The hospital won’t discharge JanK until the bill is paid in full. Every day he stays, the cost grows. We’re asking for your kindness to help us settle the bill, bring JanK home, and support him through this final chapter.

Your donation will help cover:

  • The remaining hospital fees

  • Medical equipment and supplies for home care

  • Nutritional support and pain management

  • End-of-life arrangements when the time comes

Even the smallest gift makes a difference. If you can’t donate, please share this page. Help us give JanK the peace, comfort, and love he deserves.

Thank you for reading. I’ll be posting a tribute soon so you can see just how extraordinary JanK truly is.

With love and gratitude, Mitz
