An Update on Our Path Going Forward

We realized it’s been a little while since we’ve shared an update here. Life has been a lot lately, but we finally have some concrete dates and details to share.

Justin is scheduled for a CT scan and an appointment with the medication management team on September 4. The CT should give his surgical team the information they need to determine whether his procedure can be performed robotically or will require a more traditional approach.

Most importantly, Justin’s surgery is officially scheduled for November 4 in Texas.

We’re incredibly grateful that we won’t be making that trip alone. Both Sarah’s parents and Justin’s parents will be joining us in Texas for the surgery, and it means so much to know that we’ll have family there with us during what will undoubtedly be a long and emotional few days.

We also want to say an especially heartfelt thank you to everyone who has donated toward Justin’s medical expenses, both through this page and offline. Every contribution has helped take a little bit of the financial weight off our shoulders as we prepare for surgery, travel, recovery, and everything else that comes along with it. We know there are so many worthy places you could choose to give, and we don’t take your generosity for granted.

And, as always, thank you to everyone who has prayed for us, checked in, sent encouraging messages, offered help, or simply kept Justin in your thoughts. We continue to feel incredibly loved and supported as we move toward November 4.

We’ll share another update after his September 4 appointments when we hopefully know more about exactly what surgery and recovery will look like. ❤️
