Over the past year, I have fallen behind on my rent and other bills because of everything my family has been dealing with. My 10-year-old son is nonverbal autistic and was recently diagnosed with epilepsy, which has meant numerous medical appointments, hospital visits, and a lot of time and attention dedicated to getting his health under control.
I am a single mom of two, and while I have been doing everything I can to keep up, I simply haven't been able to make enough to cover everything. I have tried to earn extra money through cleaning, detailing vehicles, and selling things from our home, but it hasn't been enough to catch up.
