Joy is currently in the Pediatric ICU where she’s been since post-op. The nursing team has been trying to keep her pain under control which is proving to be a difficult feat. She’s on Tylenol around the clock in addition to oxycodone and morphine but she’s still in pain. It’s been hard to watch.

Joy finally graduated from most of her IV lines and other miscellaneous cords that I don’t understand what they do, and there are orders to move Joy to a regular hospital floor room today. All we are waiting on is for a room to open up. It’s still uncertain if we are going home tomorrow or on Thursday. I guess it’ll depend on how the rest of the day goes.

As a force of habit, Joy keeps trying to suck her fingers which obviously causes her pain when her fingers touch her scar sites, so she has to wear no-no’s on her arms to prevent her from doing that again.

With most of the extra lines/cords gone, we can finally hold her! Daniel is currently getting some sleepy snuggles in! I’ll take my turn here shortly, but we wanted to make sure Daniel got his turn in since he’s having to go back to the Ronald McDonald house after lunch to take over on caring for Isaac (who is missing his sister SO much and asked to see her this morning 😭).

Thank you all for the continued prayers for our sweet girl ❤️

Grace, you're so good to keep us informed. For those of us who love you AND the Lord, it gives us great direction for prayer. Today I will pray that the Lord take the pain away immediately! We can't wait to meet little Joy, and I have to add that to see pictures of her interacting with Isaac is beyond wonderful. We surely do love you, and we're pulling for better outcomes than the doctors have yet conceived! xoxo
