We are now settled in our room for the next day or two. When I got called to see Joy earlier, she was still in PACU. She had woken up inconsolable so they gave her a little more sleepy medication that was supposed to help her sleep for about 5 more minutes so I could get to the room—- she ended up sleeping for more than an hour. But in true Joy fashion, she woke up during the 2 minute window of me going to the bathroom - it’s like she just knew I had walked away from her 😂 Joy’s pain management has been quite remarkable actually, so much more than it was last November. I’ve been soaking in a lot of Mama snuggles, and she even let me put her down in her hospital crib and played a little! She’s taking another nap right now but when she wakes up we will attempt our first feed. Please pray for this to go well- it’s something we have been working towards since December!!
