God bless our night nurse Liz. She placed Joy on an IV overnight and worked really hard to get Joy’s pain under control while prioritizing her rest and lo and behold I was woken up at 6am by the sound of “Mama!” and the sight of Joy playing happily in her crib. I almost couldn’t believe what I was seeing! I quickly called for a bottle to be made so I could take advantage of the good mood and Joy eagerly ate HALF OF IT!!!! We only stopped at half way because she was getting feisty - squirming trying to go play - because we had been slowly feeding over the course of half an hour, so I gave her a break. We are about to give her more to eat so fingers crossed that goes well too! If so, we should be able to get her off the IV fluids soon. 

It’s not really realistic to leave today which is okay by us- but we are praying we get to go home tomorrow!
