Josie's Journey to Aquatic Therapy
Yesterday, Josie returned to school for the first time since August 15th, marking the end of a long three weeks! Every summer, I cherish the extra time spent with both Josie and Mabel, though it can be quite challenging at times. Finding activities that are both appropriate and stimulating for them is not always easy, given their differing needs and abilities.
Both girls had fantastic first days at school, and they felt safe—definitely a win in my book! The big news from Josie's first day is that there's another girl in her class this year, which is thrilling after she was the only girl last year. I’m hopeful they will have many chances to interact and build a friendship.
Regarding the big project, we received confirmation that the tree removal permit has been approved, so phase one should begin soon. Before excavation can start, we have to take down a massive oak tree. I’ll miss that tree for the shade it provides in the backyard, but its roots could damage the pool walls. Additionally, a large thorn bush will be removed to make space for a shed. The transformation will take some time, but by next spring, we hope to have Josie exercising safely and consistently.
Thank you all for your support in turning this dream into a reality. Stay tuned this fall as each phase progresses; it’s going to be exciting!
