Joscelyn Family
If you follow me on Facebook or on YouTube, then you have probably already heard the news.
After 4 very long days of trial, the jury took a whopping 45 minutes to "deliberate" and came back with "Not Guilty" verdict on all counts.
They were in such a hurry to get out of there, they couldn't even be bothered to fill out the form. The judge had to send them back to complete it before reading the verdict.
So that's it.
The man who shot my husband 5 times, who paralyzed him for life, who is the reason my husband is in chronic pain every single day, is the cause of our lives being flipped upside down in ways that is simply unimaginable, is now walking free.
And no...there is no appeal. This is final.
After the Lindsay Clancy debacle, I shouldn't be surprised.
One of my followers on YouTube left this comment:
"I am so sorry and praying for your family. I served as a juror in a murder trial earlier this year and was shocked to see all the loopholes and cracks that can cause those who are guilty to be set free. I have no faith in the judicial system. I am sorry your family has been a victim of it. Praying for peace and comfort and protection for you and your family."
Bottom line: the jury wasn't allowed to see A LOT of crucial evidence and neither Joshua or I could simply say what happened.
Honestly, this all feels like a death in some way. We are shocked. We are grieving (again), and now we have to figure out how to move on.
But we have some other concerns in our lives that we are asking your help with:
1) If you read my last update, I mentioned that we had hired a contractor to remodel my kitchen before the trial. As of right now, he has ripped out my entire kitchen, put some flooring in, and has stolen a lot of our money. We are now having to find new contractors, deal with living with no kitchen, all while most of our budget has disappeared.
2) Now that the man who shot my husband is walking free, we are greatly concerned for our safety and are now needing to increase the security of our entire property. While he no longer owns property next to ours, we still have legitimate security concerns.
We continue to ask for your prayers, as always. And if the Lord leads you to donate just click on the "View Support Page" below.
Even though we are going through these trials, we know and rest in God's faithfulness. We know that HE has a plan, that He is the one steering this ship, and all we can do is trust Him.Β
We also put the man who shot my husband in God's hands who is the ultimate Judge.Β
But until that final Judgment Day, we're trying to navigate a lot of difficult decisions - all without a kitchen. But we know God will continue to provide. We love you all!
