Joscelyn Family
Image: Totally unrelated to Joshua or the investigation, but we are so excited that we finally are living on a PAVED road!!! This has been a few years waiting on this and it's so wonderful to be able to drive on a road that doesn't rattle our teeth out of our heads. If you live on a dirt road - you know.
In case you missed the last update, this past Wednesday, May 14th there was the arraignment but, more importantly, a bond hearing for the man who shot my husband.
Well, praise the Lord, the Judge (once again) ruled NO BOND!!! I am pretty certain there won't be any more motions for bond considering the judge has now ruled twice on the matter. I didn't have to speak at the hearing and the prosecutor didn't even have to speak. The Judge clearly has his mind made up.
I felt like a huge weight had been lifted off of my shoulders when I heard the ruling.
As far as the arraignment, he put in a "not guilty" plea which didn't surprise us.
Now....we wait. I would think the State will offer a plea deal but I haven't heard anything about it as of yet. Bottom line: please pray for the investigation, that the truth will come to light, and that justice will be served.
We know the Lord fights our battles.
In the meantime, my family and I remain safe and we are grateful for the Lord's protection.
As far as Joshua's progress: We are just waiting for his restrictions on his spine to be lifted and his brace to be able to come off. Our next appointment is at the end of May so please pray for his continued healing!
Crazy update: we believe we are feeling one of the bullets on his back and it is now leaving a bit of a bruised look. We are keeping an eye on his skin to make sure nothing wonky happens and we have alerted the neurosurgeon to look closely at his x-rays the next time we are there. I don't know if surgery would be done to remove it or anything. It's not bothering Joshua, but we have been told to watch his skin to make sure nothing goes bad there.
In the meantime, he does receive physical therapy visits each week and they have given him exercises to do within his limitations.
He is still in pain every single day especially nerve pain. Please continue that his nerves continue to heal and his pain lessens.
He is FINALLY off of antibiotics for his infection and that seems to be healing well. Praying we can get his gut health back to normal soon and that no more infections pop up.
We thank you so much for your prayers and support! And if you're wanting to donate to help us with expenses and finally getting a new van we can transport Joshua in, just click on the "view support registry" right below this text!

I am so thankful to hear that the bond hearing went well, and that the judge realizes this serious situation!
And thank you for the update on how Joshua is doing. I will continue to pray for healing, relief of pain, and peace for your family!
