Well, for the past several days Joshua has been very nauseous. So much so, he has barely been able to eat and drink.
On top of that his pain has still been very bad.
Nausea + Pain = 110% Misery
Words cannot describe how hopeless I feel when I see my husband suffering so much and I can't really do anything. He has been MISERABLE.
This past Tuesday we ended up going BACK to his pain management doctor because the new medication he was given just last Friday wasn't doing anything. New meds were issued and we're hoping this will help. I have a feeling it may take a few days to catch up because he's so behind.
Then yesterday, we ended up at the Emergency Room.
Yep...full blown ER because we had been advised by his home health nurse as well as the nurse with his GI team to go in because his nausea wasn't getting better after 5 days and he kept eating and drinking less and less.
We were also getting very concerned because he was just wasting away. This wasn't sustainable.
Good thing we listened because Joshua does have a minor infection.
No wonder he has been feeling like garbage.
IV antibiotics were administered at the ER and he is now on yet another course of antibiotics for this infection.
Glory to God - this morning he is already feeling a bit better. As of late last night after he got home he ate more than he had in 5 days. Still not a lot of food, but much better.
Today he has been able to eat a bit more and he isn't feeling as nauseous.
Praise the Lord!
Please continue to pray we can get his pain to a more manageable level.
In other news - tomorrow is the BIG APPOINTMENT with his neurosurgeon to see how his backbone is healing.
Please pray that for 3 things:
1) That his vertebrae has healed enough where he doesn't have to wear his brace anymore. He hates that thing and it severely limits his movements.
2) We get more answers about his spinal condition. We have several questions for the neurosurgeon because I have been unsatisfied with the answers we have received so far.
3) Continue prayers for his pain. We need it to be more managed where it's not so horrible he can barely do anything.
To recap: a bullet fractured his T12 vertebrae and he has had to wear a brace this entire time anytime he's above 30 degrees. He's not allowed to bend or twist either. This same injury is what is causing his paralysis from the waist down.
Once again - Joshua and I both thank you for all of your prayers and support!!! Every day we have multiple people checking in on him and it means so much to us. We love y'all!

I tried to send this through Instagram but I know you must be overwhelmed with support and messages. This is a bone and tissue supplement we had great luck with for multiple family members when having broken bones or even sprained ankles. When our son broke his wrist they were shocked at the amount of new growth and tissue healing within 3 weeks, it's a natural brand and I have wanted to share in case it may be of some help for him ❤️ as always, praying.
