We had a great therapy day yesterday! Typically Jonah is not a fan of therapy…I mean, who would be when you’re forced to move your body in ways you’re not used to? But despite boycotting a nap prior to our appointments, he did so well!
Look at that head control! Jonah stayed like this for about 5 ish minutes and then we had to readjust him since he started leaning - this threw off his concentration and didn’t make him happy and took a minute to get him comfortable again but we’re counting this as a win!
We also latched on the bottle and took a couple milliliters. We’ve tried a few different bottles, but Jonah keeps going back to the Dr Browns because apparently he wants to laugh at me cleaning all the parts 😵💫 but hey, whatever works! We try to work him orally (bottle, pacifier, finger, toys) while he’s getting fed to help build up the association of filling his belly with oral movement to tell his brain he’s getting fed.
I’ve been asked to share how people can support Jonah’s healing and the biggest thing is prayer - everyone lifting him up has gotten him this far and we know God isn’t done.
If you share this SupportNow page or Jonah’s Facebook group with people, we’d be forever grateful! We have some treatments we’re planning for Jonah this year to facilitate brain healing and unfortunately it’s all out of pocket and not local.
