September update: Big news!!!!

September Update 💜

Jolene is still doing really well, and we continue to see her progress in ways that honestly amaze us. She is showing us more and more that the threshold between her brain and body disconnect is getting lower, allowing her to understand more, interact more, and do things that were once thought to be out of reach for her. 

We have a BIG surprise planned for her, and I’m so excited to finally share what’s coming next! 

In November, Jolene will be traveling back to Mexico for another round of stem cell treatment, and another round planned for early spring. And then, summer of 2027, Jolene was invited to receive Cytotron treatment in India! She will be the first American child treated at this new facility. Cytotron made an incredible difference for Jolene when she received it in the summer of 2025 in Mexico — it truly changed her life — so I am beyond excited and hopeful to give her another opportunity to benefit from it, from a facility directly tied to Dr. Kumar - the doctor who created the treatment. 

The cost of Cytotron in India is significantly less than what we paid previously, but it is still a $15,000 USD treatment, on top of the cost of travel and everything that comes with taking a medically complex child across the world. With these next three treatments lined up, I am going to be pushing our fundraisers harder than ever. If you can donate, we are incredibly grateful. If you can’t, please share our fundraiser — sharing can make just as much of a difference in helping us reach someone who can. My goal is to get Jolene to India and make sure she can receive each of these upcoming treatments without having to worry about whether we can afford them.

After Cytotron, I plan to give her body a break from treatments and focus solely on doing a couple rounds of intensive therapy the rest of the year to really give her brain that push it needs to guide the new cells and pathways & give her optimal healing support.
